iQoniK ("we", "us", "our") operates the website iqonikmusic.com. This page explains what data we collect when you visit this site, why we collect it, and what your choices are. We keep this policy short and specific to what actually happens on our site.

1. Who we are

iQoniK is an independent drum & bass producer and DJ based in Ottawa, Canada. If you need to reach the person behind this site about privacy, email privacy@iqonikmusic.com or the general contact address bookings@iqonikmusic.com.

2. What we collect automatically

When you visit iqonikmusic.com, the following data is collected automatically through third-party analytics tools embedded on the page:

• Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-J2L74LFNBS) — page views, session duration, referring URL, device type, browser, general geographic location (country/region derived from IP, not stored as IP), and events like clicking a streaming link ("listen_click").
• Meta Pixel (ID 1654831782176872) — page views, page URL, and standard events like PageView and ViewContent. This lets us measure whether Meta (Facebook & Instagram) ads are bringing visitors here, and to show more relevant ads to people who've visited the site.
• UTM parameters — when you arrive via a link from an ad or campaign, the URL parameters (utm_source, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term, utm_medium, and Meta's fbclid) are read and attached to your session so we can group traffic by campaign.
• Basic server logs — our hosting provider (Vercel) logs IP addresses, user agent strings, and request timestamps for standard web infrastructure purposes such as abuse prevention, rate limiting, and error monitoring. These logs are typically retained for a short period per Vercel's own policy.

3. What we do NOT collect

• Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or postal addresses — unless you voluntarily send them via the booking email link, in which case only the info you type in that email reaches us.
• Payment card or banking information. This site does not process transactions.
• User account data. There are no accounts to create on this site.
• Sensitive categories such as health, sexuality, religion, or political views.

4. Third-party services that receive your data

By using this site, the following third parties may receive data as described above. Each has its own privacy policy governing how it uses that data:

• Google (Google Analytics 4) — Google Privacy Policy
• Meta Platforms Inc. (Facebook, Instagram) — Meta Privacy Policy
• Vercel (site hosting & CDN) — Vercel Privacy Policy

When you click a streaming link on this site (Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, etc.), you leave iqonikmusic.com and enter that streaming service's own domain, where their privacy policy applies.

5. Cookies

The analytics tools above set first-party and third-party cookies to identify returning visitors and group activity into sessions. You can:

• Block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.
• Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to opt out of GA4 tracking.
• Adjust your Meta ad preferences at facebook.com/adpreferences.

Blocking cookies will not break anything on this site — there is no login-gated content.

6. Data retention

Analytics data is retained by Google Analytics for 14 months by default, and by Meta according to Meta's data retention practices. We do not maintain a separate database of visitor data on our servers.

7. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA)

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export the data described above, and to object to processing. Since we don't maintain personal records on our servers, most of these rights are exercised directly with the third parties above (Google, Meta). If you have specific requests we can help route, email privacy@iqonikmusic.com.

8. Children

This site is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through this site, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International visitors

iqonikmusic.com is operated from Canada. If you visit from the European Union, United Kingdom, United States, or elsewhere, your data will be processed by our third-party analytics providers on their global infrastructure, which may include servers outside your country. Those providers maintain their own compliance with applicable cross-border transfer frameworks.

10. Changes to this policy

If we materially change what data is collected or how it's used, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Substantive changes may also be announced on our social channels.
